Networking your way to a job in Denmark

Networking in Denmark is a good way to meet potential employers over a cup of coffee. Your network is probably bigger and wider than you think.

Get help to network

Denmark is a small country with 5.5 million people, and you will find out how closely connected people are because companies and organizations are smaller and more transparent in Denmark than in other countries.

You are actually networking all the time, whether you are aware of this or not. Make a list of all the people you know and how they are related, and the web of contacts will be impressive.

Having just arrived in Denmark, you will have to start building up your network, and we will give you advice on how to do this.

We hope you will join some of our many network sessions involving partners, companies and events.

As a job seeker these sessions will give you the chance to meet with companies, HR professionals and other internationals in similar situations.

IDCN - network for accompanying partners

The International Dual Career Network (IDCN) is a collaboration of companies, NGOs and academic institutions with the purpose of facilitating networking and events for spouses as well as providing member companies with access to relevant talent.

As an international partner to an employee at Aarhus University, you can become a member of the local Jutland Funen chapter of IDCN for free and gain access to a lot of fun events, volunteering opportunities and gain career related exposure as well.

Sign up for the IDCN

By joining IDCN you get:

  • Access to networking events
  • Personal profile that is available to corporate members.
  • Access to an IDCN LinkedIn group for partners to get information about upcoming events and share their personal experiences.

For partners living in the Greater Copenhagen area, please sign up for the Copenhagen chapter followed by an e-mail informing your expat partner advisor about your registration.

If you want to volunteer at the IDCN network, you are welcome to send an e-mail to jf@idcn.info or talk to other volunteering members during the events.
